Instagram is a great networking site that can be used to connect to your current and potential customers using pictures and images. Creating an Instagram business account can help you reach potential clients you may not otherwise have access to.

Let’s get your account set up so you can start using this great networking site to promote your business. We’ve outlined some simple steps below to get you started using Instagram for your business.
Step 1: Visit Instagram.com to start the signup process. Since this is going to be a business account, do not use Facebook. Use your business name and email address to make the account professional. For your username, you’ll want to use something that is as close to your business name as possible so people will think of your business when they go to your Instagram account. If your business name is Big Blues Bicycles, you want to use that name as your username on Instagram also. If the name of your business is already taken you can use something similar to this like BigBluesInstagram or something similar.
Step 2: After you click the sign up link you will be taken to the page where you can add your profile picture. Since Instagram is primarily an image-sharing site, it’s important to use a good picture as your profile picture. Choose something that highlights your business like a logo or your company’s most popular product. This can be changed later also so if you are not sure what to use (or want to add a new image that you don’t yet have), you can wait and add it later. The minimum size for your profile is 110px x 110px.
Step 3: Before you start sharing your Instagram account, you’ll want to set up your profile. From the Instagram site, click on the image of a person in the upper right hand corner of the screen:
You will then see an Edit Profile link that when clicked on will take you to where you can add a Bio and your website. You should use the Bio area to describe yourself and your business. You’ll be able to edit this later once you have checked out some other accounts to get a better idea on how you want to describe your business. Be sure to include your website in the area provided.
Now that you have your Instagram account set up, you can login to your account from your smartphone app and do even more things like; connect your Instagram account to your other social accounts like Facebook and Twitter.
