A few years ago, simply launching a new website provided you a fairly easy way to get new customers, visitors or leads. Today, however, you have some work to do to get or increase website traffic to your new site, especially with all of the recent and ongoing changes in search engine algorithms. Besides doing keyword research, optimizing your pages and link building (SEO), one of the most important things you can do to improve your ranking is to provide good, high-quality content on a regular and consistent basis. What is considered high-quality content? Glad you asked! Since you only have a few seconds to capture the attention of a visitor, your content must inform, tell a story, solve a problem, entertain and/or share relevant news that your target audience is looking for.
To create quality content, try stepping into the shoes of your customers and ask yourself a couple of questions like; “what’s in this for me?” and “how will this product or service help me or enhance my life or business?” Consider the types of questions your customers ask you. Plan your content in a variety of formats like an infographic, e-books, videos and text, then determine the best place to deliver your content… via a blog post, Facebook, LinkedIn or other social media sites you have established for your business.

More and more people are searching online for products and services rather than using the old, outdated phone books and Yellow Pages.
